From Tuesday 3rd February to Saturday 14th February 2004
Signal Arts Centre is showing the first solo installation based exhibition by Caoimhe Kilfeather. She is the 2001 winner of Bewleys 'Works on Paper' Purchase Prize. She has shown previously in group exhibitions in the Rubicon Gallery and most recently in Guinness Storehouse.
Caoimhe is a recent graduate from NCAD and works with a wide range of media, from video, sound, photography and slide projections to wood, metal, ice and sculptural installation.
Caoimhe describes her work as, 'looking to make elements of the ordinary, unordinary; transforming the beautiful into the unsettling, and the average into the ghostly. Through transformation of materials, scale and perspective, I am seeking to explore the themes of unwanted change over time, of domesticity made strange and of the feeling of the cutting undercurrent of beauty.'
Opening Reception: Thursday 5th February 7-9pm
