'Exhibition'

by Daria Chapkovskaya

From Wednesday 8th August to Sunday 19th August 2001

Russian artist Daria Chapkovskaya is showing work based on classical themes describing some of her work Daria says..

'In my country every day I come across hideous consequences of human pride... expressed in decaying giant constructions, abandoned factories and so-called palaces of mass-culture. I firmly believe creative ability in humans and the desire towards perfect beauty, will eventually cause the miraculous living tree to grow on the ugly remains. This tree is a symbol of eternal beauty and gives the strength and the creative energy to continue.'

Opening Reception: Thursday 9th August 7-9pm
