From Tuesday 27th April to Sunday 9th May 2010

In 2001, Lian Callaghan devised the installation 'Aisling Gheal/ What Is Your Bright Dream?' for a group exhibition in Signal Arts Centre. This interactive piece featured the voice of sean n'os singer Iarla Ó'Lionáird.

As part of this exhibition, a jar which contains the 'Bright Dreams' of those who contributed to the work in 2001 will be opened for the first time since then. The dreams, which were depicted in words and images, will be mounted together during this exhibition to form the conclusion of this piece of work.

In Force Fields, Lian also shows drawings, paintings and assembled pieces which are linked by the themes of chronology, connections and collections.

Coming about from the consideration of the multitude of webs, visible and invisible, which connect all of our instincts and our actions, the vision for this exhibition is to both acknowledge and express in some way the alchemy that is inherent in the production of any art work.

A graduate of NCAD, (Fine Art-Sculpture), Lian has worked as scenic artist, interiors artist, and in the costume department on many film productions.

She now gives workshops in Living Willlow Sculpture, and has developed a range of creative family activities for festivals, parties and exhibitions.

As a Signal Staff Artist, Lian has been working in the Bray area with family groups and school groups, for Bray Summerfest, Bray School Project Art Day and The Narnia Project. She is currently working towards creating a 'Graffiti Wall' with children at the Greystones Family Resource Centre.

Opening Reception: Sunday 2nd May 3-5pm
