Another great night for Signal Arts Centre on 22nd May with the showing of our second ten shortlisted short film selection in the Mermaid.
The standard was incredibly high once more!
Greg
Murray, as usual,
did an amazing
job as Master of
Ceremonies, he makes it look very easy but it is an acquired
skill and we are eternally grateful to him for his input.
I would particularly like to thank our sponsors: 3e for
showing the winning film on the national channel, FilmBase
and also local
business Cine
Electric for
the generous
vouchers
provided by
them for the top
three winners.
Big thanks to The
Mermaid for the
use of the space
and also the
technical input.
This year we are
very lucky to
have Tony Clarke
on staff who
created
three amazing
trophies for the top
three winners;
Declan McMahon,
another staff member
was wonderful taking
on all the technical
business of putting
the films together
and also filming the
event on the night.
Aidan Flynn from
Central Press has
kindly sponsored
the printing of this
programme and is a
great patron of Signal
Arts Centre.
And, of course, both panels of judges who gave their time
and expertise with great enthusiasm..
Special thanks to:
The staff in Signal especially Caroline, who put in numerous
hours trying to get promotions, prizes etc. for the night and
also she spent hours talking to people as they arrived, on the
night, for the cameras to go on the Signal TV.
Sylvia, who
not only sat in on the first panel but also was in control of
the films on the night – well done Sylvia, went off without the
slightest hitch! Linde who designed the programme, June
who sold the tickets and of course, ex-staff such as Penny
and Denis, who both sat on the first panel and helped out on
the night.
Have a look at some of the images that Denis took on the
night and watch out for the video from Declan on SignalTV.
